Online ordering system for restaurants

Your own ordering shop, on your own domain if you want one, your own app, a terminal app that prints receipts, and an admin panel where you run everything yourself. No commission per order.

What is an online ordering system?

An online ordering system takes orders for a restaurant online and passes them through to the business. The guest picks dishes, chooses delivery or pickup, pays online or on the spot, and the order appears in the restaurant within seconds, where it is printed as a receipt.

What sets it apart from a delivery marketplace is who owns the channel. On a marketplace the guest orders from the marketplace, which keeps a commission on every order and holds the customer relationship. With your own ordering system the guest orders from the restaurant, under its name and on its domain, and the customer data stays with the business.

What hfoods is made of

Four building blocks that work together. Table reservations are included in every package.

Ordering shop

On an address of hfoods or, if you want one, on your own domain, built for search engines and made for the phone. Menu with sizes, sides and extras, cart, minimum order value and scheduled orders with a time slot.

Your own app

For iOS and Android, under the restaurant's name and logo, uploaded through our developer accounts with Apple and Google. With order history, order tracking and a loyalty program for regulars.

Order terminal

An Android device in the restaurant that accepts orders automatically and prints receipts, over Wi-Fi or mobile data. Several printers are possible, for example one for the kitchen and one for the driver.

Admin panel

Menu, opening hours, delivery areas, prices, promotions and branding in one place. Plus revenue reports in real time, from any device.

How an order travels

1

The guest orders

They open your shop or your app, choose delivery or pickup and put dishes in the cart. The system checks whether their address falls inside the delivery area and whether the minimum order value is met.

2

They pay

Cash on handover, by card on the spot, or online via Stripe and PayPal, including Apple Pay and Google Pay. Which options you offer is your decision in the admin panel.

3

The order arrives

It appears on the terminal in the restaurant and is printed as a receipt, with order type, time, address, items and payment method. Accepting or rejecting it takes one tap.

4

The guest is kept informed

They receive a confirmation by email and can follow the status. Order confirmations run by email, there are no push notifications.

Delivery, pickup and delivery areas

Delivery areas can be set in two ways: by postal code or by the actual driving distance. For each zone or distance you can store your own minimum order value and delivery fee, so that addresses further out are treated differently from the neighborhood.

Pickup works independently of that, with its own times. Either one can be switched off on its own, for a business that only delivers or only lets guests collect. Scheduled orders with a time slot are accepted by the shop outside opening hours as well.

What an ordering system costs

With hfoods you pay a fixed monthly price, whatever you sell: 99 euros net for the web shop, 149 euros net for the package with your own app. Table reservations, the terminal and the admin panel are included in both. No setup fee, no commission per order.

For comparison: delivery marketplaces usually keep 14 to 30 percent of every order. On 10,000 euros of monthly revenue through the marketplace, that is 1,400 to 3,000 euros. What genuinely comes on top are your payment provider's fees, and those apply to every online payment, whatever system you use.

Who owns the customer data?

The restaurant is the controller for its guests' data, hfoods processes it on the restaurant's behalf. For that we sign a data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR, which names every sub-processor together with its place of processing.

Precise rather than convenient: the annex to the data processing agreement names every sub-processor with its company, its activity and its place of processing; we send it to you together with the agreement.

We send you the agreement and the list of sub-processors before any conversation.

Who this is built for

Businesses that want to take their own orders instead of leaving them to a marketplace.

  • Restaurants and pizzerias with delivery, pickup or both
  • Takeout and kebab shops with high order volumes at peak times
  • Delivery businesses that want to run their own areas and minimum order values
  • Businesses with several locations, managed centrally and billed per site

Common questions about the ordering system

Short answers to what comes up most often.

hfoods is a German company that gives restaurants their own online ordering system: an ordering shop on their own domain, their own app for iOS and Android, an order terminal with receipt printing, an admin panel and a table reservation system. All of it under the restaurant's brand.

None. hfoods bills a fixed monthly price, independent of the number of orders or the revenue.

The web shop costs 99 euros net per month, the package with your own iOS and Android app 149 euros net per month. Table reservations, the order terminal and the admin panel are included in both. For multiple locations and franchise groups we put together an individual quote.

No, there is no setup fee to get started. You set up your menu, opening hours and delivery area yourself, guided step by step. If you prefer, hfoods can take over the full setup for you, and we will quote the price on request.

That is up to you. You set your shop up at your own pace and switch it live yourself, once the menu, the opening hours, the delivery area and the legal pages are in place. The menu can be taken over as a bulk import, and if you are moving from GloriaFood we pull it straight through their interface, with categories, items, prices, sizes and option groups.

Yes. The app appears in the App Store and in the Play Store under the restaurant's name, with its logo and its colors. We upload it through our developer accounts. As store policies get stricter, the restaurant's own developer accounts may be needed as a fallback, and Apple and Google then bill those fees to the restaurant directly. Whether and when the app appears is decided by Apple and Google.

Yes, both, and either one can be switched off on its own. Delivery areas are set by postal code or by driving distance, with their own minimum order values and delivery fees per zone.

Cash, card payment on the spot, and online payment via Stripe and PayPal, including Apple Pay and Google Pay. Which methods are active is for the restaurant to decide.

The restaurant remains the controller of the customer data, hfoods processes it on the restaurant's behalf on the basis of a data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR. The database is located in Frankfurt am Main; individual providers also process data in the United States of America, and the data processing agreement names them.

The contract runs for an indefinite period and can be canceled monthly to the end of the billing month. There is no minimum term and no cancellation fee.

Ad measurement

We see whether an inquiry by form, phone, email or WhatsApp followed a click on one of our ads, and whether someone started and completed a booking. For a completed booking we send the monthly net price of the package and an internal booking number that contains neither a name nor an email address, so the booking is only counted once. We do not use this for personalized advertising or remarketing. Legal basis: your consent under section 25 (1) TDDDG and Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR.
